Brief Description of the Project:
The project aimed to support poor and vulnerable communities by advancing commercial goat farming. It focused on capacity building for group members in commercial goat farming practices, with a particular emphasis on goat exchange programs among rural poor dalit households. The initiative primarily targeted women, enhancing their skills and opportunities in goat farming.
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success:
  • Formed 2 groups and mobilized them for goat rearing activities, providing 150 goats and 5 breeding bucks to support 75 households.
  • Delivered 3 training sessions on commercial goat rearing practices and healthy goat production to beneficiaries.
  • Assisted the VDC and DLSO in identifying suitable areas for goat farming by forming 5 community groups.
  • Trained goat rearing beneficiaries in parasite control (both internal and external), forage management, balanced diet preparation, and grass plantation.
  • Supported 50 households in income generation activities. Provided training to group members on account management, fund mobilization, women's empowerment, and leadership development.
