Brief Introduction: 

Rural Development and Awareness Society (RUDAS) Nepal is an exclusively service- oriented non-governmental organization (NGO), registered in District Administrative Office, Rolpa, Nepal in 2061 getting registration No.73/061/062. It was affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC), Nepal with affiliation No. 17550/061/062. The branch of the organization has been legally established in 2067 BS in Ghorahi of Dang District. The main vision of establishing the organization was to foster communities mobilizing them to use resources for the betterment of their existing situation. Since the date of establishment, the organization has been working with the targeted communities rigorously and continuously sometimes being a volunteer and most often with the support of different funding development partners.

RUDAS Nepal is dedicated and committed to community development activities being engaged in various kinds of social and rural development initiatives, social empowerment, poverty reduction, and agriculture promotion work focusing on rural and unreached communities of Rolpa District. The organization has played a vital role to ensure human rights and fundamental human needs in the climax of Maoist armed conflicts. The organization possesses sound technical knowledge, skill, and experience and contributes to the development of agriculture/livestock promotion, vulnerability reduction, socio-economic development, poverty reduction, enhancing livelihoods, empowerment of gender and social inclusion, food security, nutrition health and education, child right, protection and labor through various development initiatives in partnership with national and international development partners. The organization has also contributed to the dissemination of improved technologies especially in the agriculture and livestock sector as these are the backbone of income generation in Nepal. In addition to this, the organization has also made a notable contribution to Gender and social inclusion empowerment of women and rural poor/vulnerable, market management, and community mobilization for the positive transformation of society across the District.

Mission: To establish a capable society by executing development programs for sustainable development.

Objectives:

§ To carry awareness raising activities

§ To implement the literacy program for adult men and women and educational program for children

§ To run the agricultural program by making a feasibility study in coordination with agriculture technicians.

§ Implement health programs to upscale the health status of backward people.

§ To conduct the mobile health clinic during the situation of the epidemic.

§ To execute development programs in financial and technical support of donor agencies ensuring community participation.

§ To conduct workshops, interactions, rallies, and training for the prevention of Aids and other sexually transmitted disease.

§ To make the effort for the resolution of inhuman and domestic violence seen in a rural community.

§ To carry out programs for environment conservation and population management.

§ Conduct skill development and income-generating activities to resolve unemployment problems.

§  To carry out other programs for social development as provisioned in the existing constitution, law, and rules.
