Brief Description of the Project:
The primary objective of the project was to alleviate the workload of women by enhancing water access for domestic use, animal care, and irrigation. The project was executed using local resources to construct multi-purpose water systems, tailored to community needs and recommendations from the Village Development Committee (VDC). To optimize local resource utilization and address demand, funds were directly disbursed to the beneficiaries' bank accounts based on the VDC's recommendations.
Major outcomes achieved/ Implementation Success:
  • At the project's outset, information was shared across all VDCs, and demand for Multi-Use Water Supply (MUS) schemes was collected. The VDCs showed positive support for community mobilization. A total of 416 applications were received, including 43 for long-term and 373 for short-term schemes.
  • Surveys were conducted for 102 short-term schemes. Out of these, 4 long-term and 39 short-term schemes were successfully implemented.
